Emma's first BYU game

BYU vs. Arizona September 1, 2007

This was an eventful day for the Merrill family. It was Emma's first BYU football game and it was a good one! BYU won 20-7 vs. the Pac 10 opponent Arizona Wildcats. The win was some sweet revenge from last year's heartbreaking loss in Tucson. So, it was a great day in Cougartown.

Tasha, Emma, and I got all dressed up for the game! We bought Emma a BYU hat and shirt, while Tasha and I donned the old gear from years past. Emma sure looked cute, even though several accused her (even if it was only in their minds) of being a boy. We just didn't think it would be appropriate for her first Cougar game to be in pink clothes, so we went with the Cougar Blue.

Emma enjoyed the day. She got to be held by Aunt Jen, Aunt Jenilyn, and several other friends who were in attendance with us. She even got her picture taken with Cosmo....

Despite Cosmo's apparent scariness, Emma got over it and for the most part enjoyed the sunshine and the Cougar victory. We were happy that Cosmo and Emma were able to meet on her first time to Lavell Edwards Stadium. Hopefully her fear of the cuddly Cougar disappears. Surely her love for the Cougars will continue to grow as we raise (brainwash) her to bleed blue!
